  • Toast

    Website

    I architected and developed an online ordering system for Toast, a cloud-based restaurant point-of-sale system, creating a consumer presence for the company and helping them grow from a few to over 100 customers. The company was less than half a dozen engineers at the time. Toast IPO’d in 2021 with a valuation of $20 billion.

  • Hydrow

    Website

    I helped architect and build the first version of the rowing application that is now integrated with and powers the Hydrow rowing machine as part of the initial engineering team. Hydrow, which is in the at-home fitness space with their immersive rowing machine, has gone on to raise 100’s of millions of dollars in funding and become a market leader in the space.

  • Cue Health

    Website

    Sourced, vetted, and assembled a team of developers and designers that delivered a critical customer support application ahead of schedule and under budget. Led early architecture on the project. Cue Health builds at-home diagnostic tests that give you immediate and accurate results for COVID and other illnesses. They also have moved into virtual care and pharmacy services, which is the effort this application was supporting.

  • Motional

    Website

    Led the planning and design of a new web-based autonomous driving visualization system to support the rapid, iterative development of Motional’s autonomous driving systems. I also sourced some members of the early team. Motional, which builds self-driving cars, had existing tools which satisfied some needs but needed a comprehensive tool that was readily accessible, could be used companywide, and could manage the massive amount of data generated by the cars with ease.

  • Acceleration Partners

    Website

    I led the team that developed APVision, a data management and insights platform that aggregated Acceleration Partner’s massive amount of structured and unstructured customer marketing data and enabled them to manage it, derive reports and insights from it, and automate processes. It has gone on to become a flagship product and major selling point for the company.

    I also served as Interim CTO of Acceleration Partners for the better part of a year, during which time I lead the technology team and helped guide technology strategy and decision-making.

  • Sonde Health

    Website

    I architected and built the first version the Android mobile application for Sonde Health, which uses a person’s voice to monitor their health.

  • MuleSoft

    Website

    I architected and built a data application and API to support data analysis by MuleSoft and its customers within their Anypoint platform. MuleSoft enables companies to seamlessly integrate data, systems, and APIs with their tools. This product provided a window into the activity and performance of integrated components.

    Building software is expensive. You want to make sure you are building thoughtfully and in a way that aligns with your company’s short and long term objectives. This means, for example, incorporating third party tools and low or no code strategies where possible, avoiding the accumulation of unnecessary technical debt, and creating a foundation that is sufficiently robust and scalable. I can help you work through your priorities and turn this into an implementation strategy and ultimately an architecture that you can execute on with confidence.

    No one knows your business better than you do, but I can help you shape your business and product strategies as it relates to the associated technology dependencies. For example, determining feature prioritization relative to the underlying technology implementation complexity or assessing go to market strategy.
